This is a wonderful rest stop and visitor center located in a beautiful area. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they provide a lot of helpful information about the local opportunities. The restrooms are always clean and well-maintained, which is a big plus for travelers. The visitors center has a lot of brochures and information about the area, and the staff is happy to answer any questions you may have. The boardwalk is a great feature, offering a peaceful walk through the adjacent wetlands and out onto the Albemarle Sound. One thing to be aware of is the occasional contractor blowing yard debris onto vehicles in the parking lot, which can be frustrating for visitors. Overall, this is a great place to stop and stretch your legs, and it's a convenient and fun way to break up a road trip.
